Wishlist Feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket: How It Works

In the context of Pokemon TCG Pocket, the Wishlist feature allows you to label any card as part of your wishlist, or the group of cards that you would like to add to your collection.

While wishlisted cards are typically those that you haven’t owned yet, it’s still possible for you to add any card that you already have as part of your wishlist. This could be nifty in cases like if you need another copy of a card for building a deck or you want to purchase a Flare.

Adding Cards to Your Wishlist

Follow the step-by-step guide below to start adding cards to your Wishlist.

Step 1: Go to My Cards

Once there, you’ll have some options to search for the cards that you want to wishlist. For cards that you don’t own yet in a set, make sure that you turn on the toggle bar beside the filter symbol.

If the cards you’re looking for don’t belong to the recent set, select the filter symbol, and scroll down until you see the Booster pack option. Here, you can click the set of your desired card and even narrow the filter down to a specific pack.

Step 2: Select Your Desired Card

After finding the card that you want to wishlist, click on it. If you don’t own a copy of it, the card you’ll see will be the official card back for Pokemon TCG Pocket, and inside it the words “Not Obtained.”

Step 3: Press the Heart Symbol to Wishlist the Card

Look at the heart symbol in the top right corner of the card. Once it turns pink, it means you have successfully added that card to your wishlist. Wishlisted cards will be visible to other players.

How to See Your Wishlisted Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket

You can see your wishlisted cards in two ways: through Wonder Picks and player profile.

If any of your wishlisted cards become available in one of your Wonder Picks, it will have the heart label on it. This will make it easier for you to spot wishlist cards and have a chance at obtaining them in your Wonder Picks.

As for your player profile, scroll down until you see the Wishlist section, right between the information about your Owned cards and Achievements.

Under this section, you’ll see vacant slots for three cards. Click on one of the slots to see all of your wishlisted cards. For this feature, you’ll have the option of setting three Wishlisted cards. These three cards will be shown to other players once they open the game’s Trading feature.

In other words, the featured Wishlisted cards in your player profile are the ones that you might want to receive via Trade.

Tips for Using the Wishlist Feature

The Wishlist feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket is most beneficial for completing the secret mission that involves collecting all 151 Kanto Pokemon in Genetic Apex, which in turn unlocks the Immersive Rare Mew card.

The best cards to wishlist are those included in a newly released set, like at the time of writing this guide, the Wisdom of Sea and Sky. This way, other players will probably be opening packs from the set as well, making your wishlisted cards appear more frequently in Wonder Picks.

Keep in mind that Immersive Rares and Gold cards don’t appear in Wonder Picks. If you still want to wishlist these cards, add them to the featured wishlist in your player profile instead.

Final Thoughts

Using the Wishlist feature in Pokemon TCG Pocket is as easy as pie. It’s basically like asking the RNG gods and other players what you want, giving you more chances of obtaining them other than relying on the pure luck of opening packs.

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to open your Pokemon TCG Pocket collection and start adding your dream cards to your wishlist!
