Enjoy the beauty of the Paldea region and witness the power of the Ruinous Pokemon by checking out the most valuable cards in Paldea Evolved!
As the main expansion that followed the Scarlet and Violet base set, Pokemon TCG: Paldea Evolved continued the success of its predecessor by adding a handful of strong Pokemon cards that can dominate the current meta, such as Chien-Pao ex and Ting-Lu ex.
But apart from its gallery of promising cards, the set is also filled with various special illustration artworks that are aesthetically pleasing enough to become worthy collectibles.
Today, we are going to list the priciest and most popular cards in the entire Paldea Evolved Set, starting from the least expensive to the costliest ones.

10. Boss’s Orders (265/193-Special Illustration Rare)

Boss’s Orders has been an integral part of many decks in the standard format due to its efficiency in disrupting the opponent’s setups and combos.
These cards often feature the head honcho of each region’s villainous team, but it seemed like Paldea’s Penny won’t be the “star” for this set (pun intended).
For a change of pace, this Boss’s Orders in Paldea Evolved featured a beautifully-made artwork of Ghetsis, the leader of Team Plasma–the bad guys all the way from Unova.
9. Tinkaton ex (262/193-Special Illustration Rare)

Tinkaton, one of the cutest and toughest Fairy-type Pokemon of Gen 9, can now be played through this adorable ex card.
While it’s a bit difficult to see the background of Tinkaton ex, we can assume that this Tinkaton is living somewhere in Area Zero, due to the number of crystals surrounding the Pokemon.
In addition to its artwork, Tinkaton ex has a rather overpowered move that can deal more than 200 damage depending on the number of cards in your hand, making it compatible with Trainer cards like Professor’s Research.
8. Chi-Yu ex (259/193-Special Illustration Rare)

According to the Pokemon lore, Chi-Yu is one the Ruinous Pokemon that once wreaked havoc on an ancient kingdom in Paldea and were eventually defeated and sealed inside various shrines around the region.
This fiery-looking Chi-Yu ex card can work well as an energy source for fire-based decks like Arcanine ex and Charizard ex decks.
And of course, we can’t just ignore this card’s special illustration artwork that’s nothing but a pure eye candy.
7. Tyranitar (222/193-Illustration Rare)

One particular thing we liked about the Paldea region is the sheer number of rare Pokemon that you can encounter in its vast biomes.
It’s probably the first time that all known pseudo-legendary Pokemon can be seen thriving together in a single region, and it’s no wonder that this Tyranitar card became a fan-favorite chase card in the Paldea Evolved set.
The card captured an amazing angle of an enormous Tyranitar in its proud stance while a flock of Staraptor occupy the sky above.
6. Raichu (211/193-Illustration Rare)

A recurring theme among many cards in the Paldea Evolved set are some Illustration Rare artworks of Pokemon in their respective homes. Take for example this sleeping Raichu.
This Raichu might appear charming and harmless at first glance, but it can still score you some knockouts in the game with its Thunderbolt and charge itself again by using Electrocharge.
A Raichu Illustration Rare card isn’t a pushover either in terms of value, as it is currently sitting pretty in the current rankings of the most valuable cards in Paldea Evolved.
- CONTENT: 8 Scarlet & Violet Paldea Evolved Sleeved Booster Packs, each containing 10 cards, for a total of 80 cards.
- RANDOM CARD SELECTION: Encounter a diverse assortment of Pokémon cards in each booster pack. The element of surprise adds an extra layer of excitement to your collection.
- MORE PROTECTION: Sleeved packs help protect your cards from damage and make for easy storage and organization.
- AMAZING COLLECTION: Collect all the amazing illustration rare cards and uncover the secrets of the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Paldea Evolved expansion!
5. Chien-Pao ex (261/193-Special Illustration Rare)

Believed to be born from the hatred of those who perished by the sword in the ancient times, Chien-Pao is a powerful Ruinous Pokemon that wields a pair of razor-sharp frozen tusks.
While Chien-Pao is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the video games, the same thing can be said in its ex card.
Despite being an energy-dependent Pokemon, Chien-Pao ex is capable of dealing insane amounts of damage when its ability Shivery Chill is used with Baxcalibur’s Super Cold ability.
4. Super Rod (276/193-Hyper Rare)

Super Rod shares the similar fate with Boss’s Orders, since most standard meta decks today are also utilizing this card, giving them the chance to reuse the Energy cards from their discard piles.
With many strong Pokemon banking on powerful attacks in exchange for discarding Energy cards attached to them, Super Rod is a great way to save a player from running out of Energy in the late game.
Unlike the Hyper Rares that made the list of the most expensive cards the Scarlet and Violet base set, Super Rod is the only Hyper Rare that managed to become a valued chase card in the Paldea Evolved set.
3. Iono (254/193-Ultra Rare)

Levincia City’s favorite streamer takes Pokemon TCG by storm with the release of its Supporter card.
A very powerful Supporter card indeed, Iono can turn the tide of any battle and completely ruin the combos of many decks, such as those that rely on late game strategies like the Gardevoir ex deck.
We also consider this card as the bane of the Giratina VSTAR deck, as it can nullify the draw engine effects of Colress’s Experiment and Comfey.
Another factor that might be affecting its high price is the popularity of Iono in the video games, which coincidentally mirrors the success of Miriam cards in the base set.
2. Magikarp (203/193-Illustration Rare)

A surprising entry in this list, the Illustration Rare card of Magikarp can be viewed as the holy grail of the entire set because of its amazing art style that we rarely see in any Pokemon card.
This Magikarp card is obviously inspired by the story from the Chinese mythology about a carp that turned into a dragon after swimming its way up to the top of a waterfall.
Magikarp’s artwork contains some elements resembling the carp from the mythology–from Magikarp’s attempt to jump over the steps of the raging river, to the Gyarados waiting patiently at the mountaintop.
1. Iono (269/193-Special Illustration Rare)

If you think Iono’s Ultra Rare card isn’t expensive enough, you better check out its alternate art card, which currently holds the highest value among all cards in the Paldea Evolved set.
This card allows us to see more of Iono’s personality, which illustrates her love for food, as well as her enthusiasm to share the experience with her beloved fans.
