10. Iron Boulder ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Iron Boulder is almost a complete copy of the Legendary Terrakion, but as a Future Paradox Pokemon, Iron Boulder had some futuristic features that make it look robotic.
As for this Iron Boulder ex card, this one is quite the catch in battles as it can likely take an opponent’s Pokemon or two before it goes down. Both of its attacks can hit hard, with the stronger one, Power Stomp, dishing out a scary 200 damage.
9. Gastly (Illustration Rare)
The Gastly Illustration Rare card in the Temporal Forces expansion turned out to be the most charismatic one among the Illustration Rare cards in the set that features a multi-Pokemon artwork.
Look at those Gastly mingling with their seniors; aren’t they cute? Also, it’s the only non-Paradox Pokemon who made this list, so consider yourself lucky if you pulled one.
8. Prime Catcher (ACE SPEC Rare)
Together with the Paradox Pokemon, Temporal Forces also brought back an old set of cards all the way back from the Boundaries Crossed expansion of the Black & White series, the ACE SPEC cards.
With some of these cards having game-breaking rules, you can only have one ACE SPEC card in a deck, such as this Prime Catcher card that lets you take control of a powerful switching effect on both sides of the field.
7. Bianca’s Devotion (Special Illustration Rare)
It’s now becoming common for some characters from another region to take a cameo in the Scarlet & Violet series in the form of nifty Supporters like Bianca’s Devotion from Temporal Forces.
Unlike some cards that can only regenerate a specific amount of HP, Bianca’s Devotion can literally restart the health of one Pokemon, especially if it’s on the verge of getting Knocked Out.
6. Iron Leaves ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Joining Iron Boulder ex in this list is another Paradox Pokemon that also imitates a Swords of Justice Pokemon is Iron Leaves ex.
This card has a rather promising ability, which allows it to play straight from your hand to the Active Spot without paying the retreat cost of your current Active Pokemon. You still need to put it on the Bench though, so you can trigger its Rapid Vernier ability.
5. Morty’s Conviction (Special Illustration Rare)
Ecruteak City’s gym leader Morty returns to the latest Pokemon TCG era with this Supporter card, which serves as a strong draw engine in exchange of one card from your hand.
Among the three copies of Morty’s Conviction available in the Temporal Forces expansion, this Special Illustration Rare card caught the attention of collectors, mostly because of a recent issue involving the extreme buyouts of Morty’s Conviction.
4. Gouging Fire ex (Special Illustration Rare)
If the Swords of Justice Pokemon have their futuristic copies, the three Legendary Beasts of Johto region will get their ancient Paradox Pokemon versions in the Scarlet & Violet series.
Gouging Fire ex, which bears an uncanny resemblance to Entei, can make its move in the field with just three energy cards and an attack that can Knock Out even the toughest Pokemon ex today with its 300-damage Blaze Blitz.
3. Iron Crown ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Iron Crown ex takes the form similar to Cobalion, the leader of the Swords of Justice in Unova. This card’s artwork is quite eye-catching, as it features Iron Crown surveying its surroundings atop a pink tree, which blends well with its Psychic typing.
While Iron Crown ex’s move Twin Shotels doesn’t deal high damage even if it can hit two Pokemon, its main arsenal lies in its ability Cobalt Command, which slightly boosts the attack dealt by any of its allied Future Pokemon.
2. Walking Wake ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Who would’ve thought that the Legendary Suicune would look like a Dragon-type Pokemon in the past? This belief was heavily implied by the existence of Walking Wake, an ancient Paradox Pokemon that lingers in the watery areas of Area Zero.
Walking Wake ex, with its water-themed artwork, works well with other Pokemon that deal Special Conditions, as it can double the damage of its move, Catharsis Roar.
1. Raging Bolt ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Raging Bolt ex is currently the priciest one among the most expensive cards in Temporal Forces. This Pokemon looks like a cross between the Legendary Raikou and a giraffe, and its ex card perfectly featured the Paradox Pokemon as it makes the clouds above it produce lightning and thunder.
The most probable reason for the rising cost of Raging Bolt ex is its performance in the metagame, especially in the professional scene.
A Raging Bolt ex deck is capable of dealing massive damage to the field, thanks to cards like Squawkabilly ex and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex fueling Raging Bolt ex’s move, Bellowing Thunder.

As you see, Raging Bolt ex, together with a handful of Paradox Pokemon, dominate the price list of the most valuable cards in Temporal Forces.
However, other cards like Gastly, one ACE SPEC card, and a couple of Supporters also made this list, so we can still say that collecting Temporal Forces cards isn’t just all about looking for Ancient and Future Pokemon at all times.
In case you haven’t noticed yet, another thing that makes the Temporal Forces expansion unique is that no Hyper Rare or Gold Pokemon cards have overshadowed the prices of this set’s Special Illustration cards.
