Dig deeper into the pestilence that once plagued the land of Kitakami by collecting the most expensive cards in Shrouded Fable!
Pokemon TCG: Shrouded Fable is a special expansion that features Pecharunt, the mythical Pokemon that caused the Mochi Mayhem in the epilogue of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.
Joining this cute but highly toxic Pokemon in the set are the Loyal Three who also have their reprints as ex cards with unique moves and abilities that can significantly affect the current meta.
As of writing this post, Pokemon TCG: Shrouded Fable was just launched a few days ago. Even then, the market prices for Shrouded Fable cards are already moving up and down, with some reaching more than 40 dollars.
If you’re planning to buy any of the available Shrouded Fable products soon, you better keep an eye out on the following cards as pulling them might give you a bang for your buck in the future!

Editor’s Update (October 2024): Who needs an antidote if you have these toxic-themed cards from Shrouded Fable? We just added more links to our recent content so you might want to check them out!
10. Duskull (Illustration Rare)
Shrouded Fable’s Illustration Rare Duskull is one of the set’s most prominent cards that features the Ghost-type Pokemon from Gen III as it chills out in a quiet suburban area at night.
While this card looks like your regular Illustration Rare, the most probable reason behind its price surge is that all printings of its evolution line follow the same simple but creepy artworks made by the same illustrator.
9. Dusknoir (Illustration Rare)
We pity Dusclops for not making the top 10 list of the most expensive cards in Shrouded Fable!
But anyway, its evolved form, Dusknoir managed to make the cut, which is also attributed to its artwork and playability.
This card depicts a Dusknoir taking a peek from the balcony of a house, and we can assume that its background features the same location as the Illustration Rare copies of Duskull and Dusclops.
8. Houndoom (Illustration Rare)
Similar to the Duskull evolution line cards, Pokemon TCG: Shrouded Fable provided a heavy emphasis on Pokemon nightlife by adding cards with distinctive art style like this Illustration Rare Houndoom.
Fire-type Pokemon cards are supposed to be red in color, right? But not this one, as it shows a Houndoom with its nearby pack members chasing something in the dark, which covers the entirety of the card’s artwork.
7. Pecharunt ex (Special Illustration Rare)
We believe that this Special Illustration Rare Pecharunt ex is the card that defined the entire Shrouded Fable set, so it’s only logical to expect that it will be quite valuable for collectors once it hits the market.
As the first Special Illustration Rare card of Pecharunt, this card was successful in giving us a tabletop version of what the mythical Pokemon can do, with its ability Subjugating Chains.
In the Pokemon lore, Pecharunt used its Mochi-binding abilities to subjugate the Loyal Three Pokemon, ordering them to retrieve a magical set of masks from the land of Kitakami.
6. Munkidori ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Those who already played the epilogue of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC will surely rejoice as the Loyal Three (Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti) return to Pokemon TCG as ex cards with poison-themed artworks.
Munkidori ex is a promising card for Dark-type decks with its Oh No You Don’t Ability, which denies an opponent of one Prize Card if Munkidori gets Knocked Out.
5. Persian (Illustration Rare)
It’s not just Dark-type Pokemon who love being awake at night–apparently, some Normal-types like this Persian enjoy the view of the city lights with its reflection in the window.
Cards featuring Gen I Pokemon are getting less attention these days, so it’s a good sigh of relief to see one gaining some attention from a newer expansion.
4. Okidogi ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Okidogi was once a weak Pokemon who acquired strength and power from Pecharunt’s poison chains. After joining the Loyal Three, he and his fellow retainers were slain by Ogerpon, who only attacked in retaliation.
This Special Illustration Rare Okidogi has a gameplay mechanic that allows it to provide its own Energy cards and boost the damage of its move upon getting Poisoned. Talk about a double-edged sword!

3. Earthen Vessel (Hyper Rare)
Despite the growing number of Hyper Rares, many of these gold-colored cards are still getting higher than average prices, like this Earthen Vessel from Shrouded Fable.
Earthen Vessel looks like an inferior version of the Super Rod, but discarding a card in your hand for two Basic Energy cards is a worthy trade, and you can pair it with another card that can help you retrieve the discarded card if you need it.
2. Fezandipiti ex (Special Illustration Rare)
Fezandipiti might be the most beautiful Pokemon among the Loyal Three, but for those who haven’t figured it out yet, this bird Pokemon is a dude like his fellow retainers.
Right now, this Special Illustration Rare card is one of the most expensive cards in Shrouded Fable. It also has an excellent sniping move that can take out an opposing low-HP Pokemon of your choice.
1. Cassiopeia (Special Illustration Rare)
And the award for the priciest card in Shrouded Fable goes to this Penny card, AKA Cassiopeia, in its Special Illustration Rare variant.
We apologize for any spoilers, but as most Pokefans already know, Cassiopeia, the mysterious person who helped the protagonist of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in taking down the Team Star bosses, turned out to be Penny.
In a well-drawn full art card, this Special Illustration Rare Cassiopeia illustrates the tech-savvy Penny as she types on her computer, all focused on whatever geeky thing she wants to do with a Sylveon behind her.
Most Expensive Cards in Shrouded Fable: Conclusion
Shrouded Fable will surely become one of the most memorable sets in the Scarlet and Violet era, since it introduced the first cards of the mythical Pokemon Pecharunt.
With many of the most expensive cards in Shrouded Fable are Pokemon who either love the night or are intoxicated with Pecharunt’s mochi, the Trainer card Cassiopeia still takes the top of the list.
What do you think of these high-valued chase cards? Are you looking forward to having some of them?
We hope this list provided you with a nice insight about which Shrouded Fable cards you should pull the next time you open a booster box.
