Open more packs and access more exciting features by reading this guide about how to get XP in Pokemon TCG Pocket!
Since its release on October 30th, 2024, Pokemon TCG Pocket has gained a massive cult following, with millions of mobile users downloading the app in its early days.
Pokemon TCG Pocket offers various features that allow its users to feel the joy of owning a Pokemon TCG collection, as well as building decks that can be used for battles.
Speaking about collecting digital cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket, The Pokemon Company did a great job in emulating the experience and thrill of opening booster packs with a twist.
As you open more packs, your player account can level up, which unlocks more features, like the display boards, binders, and deck building options. Higher levels also give out valuable resources, such as hourglasses and tickets.
To level up, you need to gain experience points or XPs. If you’re too lazy to check out the in-game tutorials from the developers, here is a more detailed and summarized version that will teach you the ways of getting more XP faster in Pokemon TCG Pocket:
More from PokeCardHQ:
1. Opening Packs
The most basic way of getting XP in Pokemon TCG Pocket is opening booster packs. The first set released for the app was the Genetic Apex, which was available in three types of booster packs: the Mewtwo pack, the Charizard pack, and the Pikachu pack.
Fortunately, new accounts can receive lots of hourglasses to expedite the cooldown feature of opening the packs, so you’ll also get a bunch of XPs at the tutorial phase, which will get you to levels 4-6 in no time.
2. Playing Battles
Participating in battles is like hitting two birds with one stone, since battles in Pokemon TCG Pocket will reward you with both player XPs and hourglasses. As you battle, you can collect hourglasses for opening more packs.
Don’t hesitate to play your cards in solo and versus modes, as both of them will give you XPs at the end of each battle.
3. Completing Missions
Missions contain several lists of objectives that you need to achieve in the app. Types of missions include Daily, Dex, Deck, Event, and Premium.
Completing missions can reward you with various goodies, and you can use them to open more packs. With more packs, you can add more cards to your collection, giving you more options to build stronger decks that you can use for beating the battles in solo mode.
4. Obtaining Cards via Wonder Picks
Wonder Picks share some similarities with opening packs, but instead of getting five cards, you’ll randomly choose one from the five cards obtained by your friends or other players.
Every Wonder Pick costs a certain amount of wonder stamina, depending on the rarity of the cards that you want to pick.
Regardless of your luck in getting the cards that you want in this feature, you’ll still receive player XP from Wonder Picks, so don’t hesitate to spend your wonder stamina whenever you see a card that you need from another player’s pulls.
5. Subscribing to the Premium Pass
This method is optional, as you can still get XP fast in Pokemon TCG Pocket as a free-to-play player.
However, if you’re willing to pay for the Premium Pass, you can receive an extra booster pack per day, in addition to the two packs that you can get for 24 hours without spending hourglasses.
Moreover, the Premium Pass also unlocks the premium missions, which are almost similar to the dailies, but with more hourglasses and tickets as rewards.
The Premium Pass is basically a supplement that maximizes the amount of XP that you can get apart from the other methods mentioned above.
How to Get XP in Pokemon TCG Pocket: Conclusion
As you see, the general thing that you need to do if you want to catch up with your other Pokemon TCG Pocket friends is to finish the tutorial, play your cards, earn hourglasses, open more packs, and just do everything you need to progress in the game.
The more frequently you log in, play battles, and clear missions, you can keep getting XPs and reach level 10 in just a couple of days.
The only problem that we can see here is that the rewards that allow you to get more XPs will become scarcer once you clear more missions and complete the battle’s solo mode.
But looking at the solo mode’s decks, we assume that more missions will be available once the developers release the second set for the Pokemon TCG Pocket.
