These tips on how to get more packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket will teach you some real patience and help you experience the real joy of growing your digital card collection!
As a beginner in Pokemon TCG Pocket, you get to open a bunch of packs at the start to give you a number of cards that are enough to create a deck. If you’re lucky, you might even pull some full art cards that you can flex with other fellow players.
But what happens after that? At this point in the game, you will start to realize how rare Pack Hourglasses can be, as well as the real value of those free packs that you can open twice a day.
Before you consider spending your money to open more packs, you need to learn that there are ways of having additional packs apart from the free ones.
Like what we already said, these methods will require patience on your part, but they’re definitely the better choice than buying Poke Gold.

Tip #1: Complete Every Solo Mission

Apart from being a nice feature for testing your new decks, the solo missions in Pokemon TCG Pocket can also reward you with Pack Hourglasses that you can exchange to open a pack.
If you complete every solo mission from all the available expansions so far, you will likely collect enough Pack Hourglasses to open 10 Packs at once many times over.
The difficulty of each solo mission may vary depending on the deck that you need to battle, but it shouldn’t give you any trouble if you have decks that can counter every type of Pokemon.
Tip #2: Stay Tuned to the Latest Drop Events or a New Expansion

Look at the News button in your Pokemon TCGP app to check if there are any upcoming Drop Events or a scheduled release of a new expansion.
Drop events are mini-events in the game where you can get Promo cards, and they also add a new set of solo missions for you to complete, which could reward you with extra Pack Hourglasses. The same can be said with the release of a new expansion; more solo missions.
Tip #3: Complete Daily Missions

Daily missions aren’t too difficult to complete, since you can complete one of them just by opening your app every day.
Once you clear three daily missions, you will be rewarded with four Pack Hourglasses. It’s not that much, but at least you get to increase your Hourglasses by simple things like opening a free pack and playing a battle.
Tip #4: Be Consistent in Opening Free Packs

A free pack will always give you a chance for a God pack, or maybe a certain Immersive or Crown Rare card that you’ve been wanting for a long time.
As soon as you hear that familiar sound notification on your phone, don’t hesitate to take a break from whatever you’re doing and open that pack right away!
The more free packs you open, the more cards you’ll have that you can use for defeating those decks in the solo missions.
Tip #5: Hoard Your Pack Hourglasses

The choice between opening a pack vs. 10 packs at once might be a matter of debate for most players, but one thing is for sure: if you want to open more packs, farm your Pack Hourglasses.
Many players today have the tendency to always open an extra pack the moment they collect 12 Pack Hourglasses. This practice is generally fine, but it kind of messes up the timing of their free packs.
So, if you prefer the schedules at which you get your free packs, it’s better to hoard as many Pack Hourglasses as you can, and once you’re satisfied with the amount, open all of them at once.
Another advantage of keeping hundreds to thousands of Pack Hourglasses is that when a new expansion comes out, you’ll be one of the few to earn a massive collection of new cards from that set.
Final Thoughts
The tips above are especially useful for new Pokemon TCG Pocket players, particularly those who want to play as F2P.
Keep in mind that no matter how many packs you get, RNG still plays a major factor in the rarity of cards that you might receive. Nevertheless, don’t be lazy in finding more ways to get your hands on some Pack Hourglasses.
