It’s been more than a month since Pokemon TCG pocket was released, and as we wait for more events that DeNa will throw at us, people are still wondering if there are any other obtainable things hidden in the game.
After the thrilling early levels where you get to open a bunch of booster packs, it seemed like the magic of pulling full art cards had started to dwindle as you collected hundreds of cards.
The hourglasses also became a scarce resource, even with all the in-game events that can only allow you to open an extra pack or two.
But before you put down your phone, have you ever heard of other players getting a unique immersive card featuring Gen 1’s beloved Legendary Pokemon Mew?
The card was all over the internet lately, and the entire Pokemon TCG Pocket community is currently on the hunt for the card.
What makes this card special, you ask?
While many players might have multiple copies of immersive rare cards depicting Charizard ex, Mewtwo ex, and Pikachu ex, only a lucky few have the chance of getting an immersive Mew card because unlike the other cards we mentioned, Mew can’t be obtained by normal means, like opening packs or buying it through the Pack Point Exchange feature.

The Only Way to Get Mew in Pokemon TCG Pocket
To add Mew to your Pokemon TCG Pocket collection, all you have to do is unlock it by clearing the secret mission of completing the Kanto dex.
Since the mission is labeled as “secret,” you won’t be able to see it if you open your missions tab. This secret mission will require you to pull all the 150 Kanto Pokemon from all the three available packs.
For those unfamiliar with Kanto Pokemon, these are mons belonging to the first generation introduced with the franchise’s debut games, Pokémon Red and Green, released in Japan in 1996.
The total number of Pokemon available in Pokemon Red and Green is 151, which includes Mew, the Pokemon known for possessing the genes of every Pokemon, as well as the reason for Mewtwo’s existence.
All 150 Pokemon You Need to Pull for Mew
Remember that when completing the Kanto dex, you only need to pull at least a copy of the Pokemon below regardless of its rarity.
For instance, if you don’t have the regular Charizard and you have a Charizard ex, your Charizard ex will still count towards having a Charizard card.
Promo cards, however, can’t be considered as a substitute, so you need to bank your luck on Kanto cards that are obtainable in packs.
Anyway, here’s a list of all Pokemon cards for the Kanto dex secret mission:

Tips for Completing the Kanto Dex in Pokemon TCG Pocket
Here are some tips that you can try so you can eventually unlock the immersive rare Mew in the game:
1. Open Packs as Much as You Can
Yes, you can’t directly get Mew from the packs, but you’ll need to keep opening packs if you’re still missing so many Kanto Pokemon in your collection.
In case you’ve been playing Pokemon TCG Pocket since its release and you are consistently opening two packs per day, you should have more than half of the Kanto Pokemon already.
New players must wait patiently as completing the secret mission will surely take some time, even if you subscribed to a premium pass.
2. Get the Remaining Cards at the Pack Point Exchange
If you already checked our list of the 150 Pokemon above and it turns out you’re only missing some cards, this is the best chance for you to use your pack points, if you have any.
Pack points are obtained by opening booster packs, and if you’re using this resource to complete your decks, this tip won’t be that much help to you.
For those with lots of pack points, you can spend them at the Pack Point Exchange. From the main menu, click on one of the booster packs, and from the interface where you need to choose a pack, click the circle on the lower right.
This is the Pack Point Exchange, a feature for crafting a specific card. Each card costs a particular amount of pack points, and if you have enough to spend on getting the remaining Kanto cards, you’ll have the immersive rare Mew in no time.
3. Participate in Events to Get More Hourglasses
If there’s an event going on, there’s a good chance that you can get some hourglasses from it. You can open more than two packs a day by spending hourglasses, giving you more opportunities to grow your Kanto Pokemon collection.
Conclusion
Getting Mew in Pokemon TCG Pocket is a simple but laborious process. We recommend that you remove any pressures you have in getting this card, as it is only a collectible card that you can get from a secret mission.
You see, this card offers no value whatsoever other than its rarity and artwork. You can only get one copy, and all it does is a 20-damage move that makes your opponent reveal their hand.
Mew is basically a Hand Scope with tickling damage and 60 HP. You won’t need this card in your deck as it runs the risk of giving a free point to your opponent if it gets knocked out early in the game.
Nevertheless, Mew is worth the time and effort if you’re more of a collector. Feel free to flex this card to your friends if you got one!
