This Grass deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket is so underrated; few opponents can anticipate your next move!
The meta in Pokemon Pocket nowadays is filled with various types of Pokemon. While many players might prefer different variants of Darkrai ex, Giratina ex, Suicune ex, or Silvally, very few are attracted to the potential of Grass types.
Grass-type decks are rarely seen in the game’s top meta, with the most competitive ones we’ve seen so far being Buzzwole ex and Celebi ex.
However, these decks are often reliant on timing, and they can get easily overpowered by faster decks.
So, if you’ve been looking for a decent but fast Grass-type deck, the best we had so far is Decidueye ex, a card that’s excellent in sniping and is a great counter against decks that take advantage of the switching mechanics.

Quick Sniping Grass Deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket: Decidueye-Meoscarada Build
A lot of players have been sleeping on Decidueye ex since it’s also in the same set as Oricorio, Solgaleo, Rare Candy, and Poison Barb, which all overshadowed the Grass-type owl.

This bird might not look the part, but its 170 HP makes it an absolute tank. As long as the opposing Pokemon isn’t a Fire type, there’s a good chance that Decidueye ex can survive for two to three turns. By that time, it should’ve already inflicted enough damage that it’s hard for the opponent to turn things up.
Decidueye ex has two useful attacks. The first is Pierce the Rain, which can literally snipe any wounded Benched Pokemon. The other one is Razor Leaf, a two-Energy move that can be used against some Water types.
Supporting Decidueye ex is Meowscarada, a good counter against any Pokemon ex. It can dish out as much as 130 damage, which can be problematic to your opponent if they want to keep their Pokemon ex alive.
Meowscarada also poses a good matchup against Oricorio, in case your opponent tries to neutralize Decidueye ex.
Here is the deck list for the Decidueye-Meowscarada build:
- x2 Sprigatito
- x2 Rowlet
- x1 Dartrix
- x2 Meowscarada
- x2 Decidueye ex
- x1 Erika
- x1 Lillie
- x2 Professor’s Research
- x2 Rare Candy
- x2 Poke Ball
- x1 Rocky Helmet
- x2 Leaf Cape
How to Play the Decidueye-Meowscarada Deck
The most vital cards that you need to have at the start of a game are the following:
- x1 Rare Candy
- x1 Rowlet or Sprigatito
- x1 Decidueye ex or Meowscarada
If you already got Rowlet, Rare Candy, and a Decidueye ex, the game is almost yours. If your opponent is using a slow deck like Giratina ex, they’re in for a lot of trouble.

Your goal here is to feed Rowlet two Energy and as soon as you can play Rare Candy, use it right away to set up Decidueye ex. It only takes two turns to give Decidueye ex the Energy it needs, and you can use any of its moves depending on the situation.
If you want to target a specific Benched Pokemon, you can plan ahead. Have your Rowlet attack it using its Skill Drive, then once you evolve it to Decidueye ex, finish it off by spamming Pierce the Pain.
As for the Razor Leaf, you can use it anytime it’s not optimal or possible for you to use Pierce the Pain.
Having two Rare Candies means that you can evolve only twice in the game. To prevent any possibility of bricking, one copy of Dartrix is in the deck, so you won’t be worried in case you have no choice but to evolve two of your Sprigatito.
Let Decidueye ex attack as often as possible, and if your opponent can’t make any counter, victory is yours.
Other essential cards in the deck
This Decidueye-Meowscarada build only needs a few types of Supporters and Tools to back it up.
Lillie and Erika will make it much harder to take down Decidueye ex with their healing output, and if you use them with Leaf Cape, your opponent will have to face a 200-HP monstrosity that can heal 50-60 damage.
Finally, a Rocky Helmet is just added for extra annoyance, especially if you’re going up against an equally fast deck.
Final Thoughts
If you’re a regular player, this Grass deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket is quite easy to build and collect. It’s also a beginner-friendly deck and can be used against a lot of other decks in the game, except Genetic Apex’s Charizard ex.
Pierce the Pain is Decidueye ex’s main arsenal, and with it, you can surprise your opponent if they’re using Celesteela or Leaf. The key here is to prevent your opponent from abusing the Bench spot and finish them off before they can fight back.
