As we’ve already covered in our article about the reasons why Moonbreon is so expensive, one of the factors that can make or break a Pokemon card’s value is its artwork.
If a card has an eye-catching, unique, or cool artwork, it will likely fetch a higher price as more collectors will start eyeing for it.
However, throughout Pokemon TCG’s history, there have been cards with artwork that are just downright weird or are funny enough that it makes you wonder how the hell The Pokemon Company approved their printing in the first place.

10. Sudowoodo from Paldea Evolved (Illustration Rare)
For our first entry, this card from Paldea Evolved might look like it features an empty street, but voila, look closer and you’ll see a Sudowoodo pretending to be a small tree!
Perhaps the thing that makes this illustration ridiculous is that most Pokemon card artists often emphasize the featured Pokemon at the center of the artwork, but it’s not the same case for this well-played and drawn Sudowoodo card.
9. Stunfisk from Legendary Treasures (Uncommon)
We can consider Stunfisk as one of those poorly designed Pokemon without any evolved forms to redeem themselves.
Look at this card from Legendary Treasures. It’s as if a spirit of a Jynx possessed this Stunfisk. The artist failed miserably in trying to make this Pokemon cute after all, and that’s pretty hilarious.
8. Feebas from Crimson Invasion (Common)
Despite evolving from the marvelous Milotic, there is always something quite unsettling when you look at Feebas, as if it is always hiding something in its deep, emotionless eyes.
But instead of being creepy, this Feebas card from Crimson Invasion looked like it seemed something surprising that its reaction is clearly a meme-worthy one.
7. Magikarp & Wailord-GX from Sun & Moon Promos
Poor Magikarp! Looks like teaming up with a gargantuan Pokemon like Wailord isn’t a good idea, as you can see in this TAG TEAM card.
What’s even shocking here is that for the first time, we’ll see a Splash move that deals a ton of damage. That move is quite worthy of its name, “Super Splash.”
6. Poke Maniac from Unified Minds (Ultra Rare)
What the hell is wrong with this guy? And nope, this isn’t Joji the Pink Guy; it’s no other than the Poke Maniac, who’s literally looking like a maniac in this Ultra Rare card.
We’re not sure as to why this Slowpoke wearing weirdo is doing this, but it will surely make your opponent laugh if you try to play it in a casual game.
5. Eevee-GX from Sun & Moon Promos
We don’t need to explain too much; this Eevee card is one of the funniest Pokemon cards we’ve seen so far.
All we can comment on is that it kind of reminds us of a Yao Ming meme with a side-splitting smile. Like, come on Eevee-GX, don’t give up on life! Tell us your problems, dude!
4. Ditto from XY Promos
Oh, this abomination. What did Ditto do to deserve this? We understand that this Pokemon has the ability to shapeshift, but it’s kind of bizarre to see it in a mid-transformation state.
By the way, if this creature starts appearing in your dreams at night, you’re welcome. Perhaps it’s time to find a copy online to appease its spirit.
3. Bonsly from Diamond & Pearl (Common)
Yes, this is a real Pokemon card, and as you can see, there’s a hole in it. A hole.
It’s perfectly natural to have such an organ, especially for every Pokemon species, but we’re not sure if it’s appropriate to flaunt one in a card illustration. You guys be the judge for this one!
2. Imakuni?’s Duduo from Evolutions (Secret Rare)
Imakuni?’s Duduo is the only card that allows you to literally throw it in the air once it retreats, because that is how fast that Duduo can be.
For those who know nothing about this card, it’s actually based on a guy named Tomoaki Imakuni, an employee from Creatures Inc.
For some reason, they printed various cards featuring him in his costume, which has an uncanny similarity to that Poke Maniac in Slowpoke suit.
1. Imakuni? from Generations (Uncommon)
Pokemon TCG can’t get enough of this guy, eh! Behold the Imakuni? Trainer card, a powerful Supporter that when played, makes you a step closer to losing a game.
Apart from being obviously made as a joke card, the card’s artwork features a funny troll face of a real person, which was the first one of its kind in the franchise.
Funniest Pokemon Cards: Conclusion
With most Pokemon cards today having dope artworks, it won’t hurt that Pokemon TCG artists will try to think out of the box sometimes to come up with hilarious cards that can make us laugh once in a while.
While we think that Yao Ming-faced Eevee-GX is one of the funniest Pokemon cards right now, several cards like Imakuni? deserves some attention as well.
